This policy follows Colombia’s personal-data framework, including Law 1581 of 2012 and its regulations. In this policy, “processing” means any operation performed on personal data, including collecting, storing, using, consulting, sharing, updating or deleting it.
1. Controller
Santiago Montoya Camacho, trading as YGTE, is the data controller. The email above is the channel for enquiries, complaints and requests.
2. Data processed
Depending on your relationship with YGTE, data may include:
- Name, email, telephone, country, city, time zone and voluntary professional details.
- Bookings, attendance, cancellations, packages, currency, amount, payment method, reference and payment status.
- Approximate English level, goals, preferences, activities, writing, lesson notes, feedback and results you choose to share.
- Messages sent by email, WhatsApp, forms or platforms.
- Basic technical data generated by hosting and site security.
YGTE does not need to store complete card details; these are processed by the payment provider.
3. Sensitive data and minors
Sensitive data is not routinely requested. Avoid sharing medical, biometric, political, religious, sexual, trade-union or protected third-party information. If YGTE accidentally receives sensitive data that is not needed, YGTE will reasonably seek not to use it and will delete it or restrict its processing unless retention is legally required. The service is for adults and does not intentionally collect children’s data without legally required safeguards.
4. Collection
Data may be collected directly from you, through forms, email, Notion Calendar, WhatsApp, payment providers, shared materials or Granola when you authorise transcription.
5. Purposes
Data is used to answer enquiries, assess service fit, schedule lessons, process payments, personalise teaching, prepare materials and feedback, administer packages, communicate, comply with law, prevent fraud and protect security. Marketing requires consent or another valid basis and you may opt out.
6. Granola
With prior, express and informed consent, YGTE may use Granola to create AI-assisted transcripts and notes for feedback, progress monitoring and preparation.
Transcription is optional. Granola states that audio is discarded after transcription, notes remain until deleted and external AI providers may not train their models with processed personal data. Granola may use aggregated or de-identified information for its own systems unless the user opts out. YGTE will opt out where available and delete transcripts when no longer needed, normally within 90 days after the teaching relationship ends. Read the Granola Privacy Policy.
7. Providers
Necessary data may be shared with Notion, Google, WhatsApp/Meta, Global66, Colombian payment providers, Granola, hosting and security providers, advisers or authorities where appropriate. Some providers process data on YGTE’s behalf; others act independently under their own privacy policies. YGTE does not sell personal data.
8. International processing
Some providers process data outside Colombia. Data may therefore be transmitted internationally under applicable law, provider policies and available safeguards.
9. Retention
- Unsuccessful enquiries: up to 12 months.
- Bookings, routine communications and lesson notes: during the teaching relationship and normally for up to 24 months after it ends.
- Granola audio: YGTE stores no audio file; Granola states it discards audio after transcription.
- Transcripts: during the relationship and normally up to 90 days afterwards.
- Accounting records: for the period legally required.
- Marketing: until consent is withdrawn or the information is no longer needed.
10. Your rights
You may access, update and correct data; request evidence of consent; ask how data is used; make enquiries and complaints; request deletion or withdrawal where available; access data free of charge; refuse sensitive-data processing or transcription; and complain to the SIC after completing the prior procedure where legally required. Before disclosing, correcting or deleting data, YGTE may request reasonable information to verify your identity or authority to act.
11. Enquiries and complaints
Email santi.goto.english@gmail.com with your name, request, reply details and relevant documents. Enquiries are answered within 10 business days, subject to the legal extension. Complete complaints are handled within 15 business days from the day after receipt, subject to the permitted extension. Incomplete complaints may require correction within five days; no response for two months may be treated as withdrawal.
12. Cookies and analytics
The site uses strictly necessary storage to remember your preferences, including your consent choice. With your permission, it uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, pages viewed, general traffic sources, site interactions, and clicks on booking or contact links. Google may process technical information such as IP address, device type, browser and approximate location under its own privacy policy. Analytics does not load before you accept it, and YGTE does not use advertising cookies. You may refuse analytics or change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the site footer.
13. Security
YGTE uses reasonable technical and organisational measures, including restricted access, secure passwords, reputable providers, minimisation and periodic deletion. No system can guarantee absolute security.
14. External links
YGTE does not control external sites’ policies, including calendar and payment providers. Review them before providing information.
15. Changes
The policy may be updated for legal, operational or technological changes. Material changes will be communicated or new consent requested when required.
